Job Description

SCOPE

Seeking an assistant controller to provide the Controller and CFO with assistance on all accounting-related tasks. The ideal candidate has a passion for finding solutions to complex problems. We’re looking for a self-starting, highly detailed professional who practices discretion in all corporate matters and doesn’t mind working with numerous projects at once. We need someone who respects deadlines and doesn’t mind wearing a few hats at a time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany accounting

Reviews, evaluates and implements accounting systems, policies, controls and procedures.

Ensures deadlines for accounting close are met and needed reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

Assist with financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.

Prepares monthly financial statements for international locations.

Assists in the preparation of the annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents.

Monitors receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated.

Oversees accounts payable function including but not limited to compliance with expense reporting, capitalization policy, and purchase order procedures.

Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounts payable and accounts receivable team; manages schedules and workflow.

Review and oversee property and sales/use tax functions

Assists with special projects as required.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent. CPA required.

Five to seven years related experience.

Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”)

Experience in mergers and acquisitions. Preferred

Prior history working with private equity groups/owners. Preferred

Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.

Ability to work with all levels of management.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Proven leadership and business acumen skills

Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.

Commitment to excellence and high standards.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong level of competency in Excel.
