Job Description

The Business Strategist is responsible for the overall review, analytics and evaluation of business systems and user needs. Will review document requirements, define scope and objectives and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or on-time operational issues
  • Engage key internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare project cost benefit analysis
  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the positions role within the business unit.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management/administration preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Understand the similarities and differences of business units within the region and company
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or on-time operational issues
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 25%

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
