Job Description

Essential Functions of this position include:

  •  Participates as a member of the Senior Management Team in the financial and functional decision-making processes necessary to set and successfully achieve the Company’s core purpose and strategic plan
  •  Ensures the Company meets all regulatory and compliance needs
  •  Oversees and sets strategic direction for the functions of the Accounting, IT, and IS Departments
  •  Selects, trains, and manages the performance of Accounting, IT, and IS leaders to ensure quality of service and technical expertise
  •  Ensures Company IT and IS systems support the operations of the business
  •  Ensures that all financial transactions, transmissions, period close processes, and reporting functions are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with GAAP for US and Canadian entities
  •  Develops, improves, communicates, and interprets monthly/annual/on-demand financial reports and statements (including budgets and forecasts)
  •  Provides financial analysis to evaluate Company ventures, special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc.
  •  Assesses and mitigates risk for the Company
  •  Implements and maintains disciplines of internal controls and checks
  •  Provides appropriate corporate tax guidance to best achieve Company objectives within IRS and other legal guidelines; prepare documents necessary for audits and tax returns associated with S-Corp entity
  •  Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms; monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  •  Manage the activities and deliverables of outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, P&C/liability insurance agent(s) & carrier(s), credit card companies, etc.
  •  Manages real estate transactions, contract generation and execution, patent applications, and other legal management activities
  •  Other duties as assigned

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:

  •  Proficient with and knowledgeable of all current General Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”)
  •  Conflict resolution skills
  •  Ability to use good judgment and make decisions
  •  Ability to analyze complex information and produce solutions
  •  Demonstrated ability to successfully manage one or more departments
  •  Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (Epicor preferred), and other reporting and business intelligence systems (e.g. Power BI, Crystal Reports, etc.)
  •  Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  •  Self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse audiences through diplomacy and tact
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
