Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Cold-call leads generated by external sources
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts
  • Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process
  • Collaborate with appropriate team members to determine necessary strategic sales approach
  • Act as a bridge between Marketing and Sales. Be cognizant of each marketing  initiative and work towards corporate objectives
  • Ownership of third party lead-generation tools for qualification and distribution to BDS
  • Minor marketing functions – eBlast scheduling and delivery, follow up on trade show leads, trade show support
  • Proactively market to stagnant market segments or niche applications
  • Utilization of Polygon CRM for all duties
  • Management of client consistency within CRM
  • Project Estimation & Proposal Development
  • Individual revenue contribution from targeted customers
  • Management of select Portfolio accounts
  • Qualify in-coming leads from various marketing activities and events as well as incoming calls through the toll-free number
  • Perform market research and initiate contact in specific targeted market areas as directed by the RSD
  • Create new leads and opportunities in CRM/OS for qualified companies, individuals and project opportunities uncovered in above activities
  • Upsell and expand relationship with targeted customers
  • Maintain and expand Polygon’s database of prospects
  • Set up and support delivery of sales presentations,  marketing and/or trade events and other sales actions
  • Assist in creating Request for Proposal responses to potential customers/projects
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports
  • Attend periodic sales training where applicable
  • Appropriately communicate Brand and corporate position

Job Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of direct work experience in a sales or telesales capacity or industry experience
    • Substitution of applicable field/project management where customer relationship experience has played a key role
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects, close deals and achieve sales quotas
  • Experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Strong problem-identification and objection-resolution skills
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
  • Ability to travel and attend sales events or exhibits; less than 10% of the time
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Microsoft office suite or identified skills with industry standard software applications
  • Experience with customer relationship management software
  • University or college degree preferred
