Job Description

The Position

Electrosonic Inc. is looking for a Regional Operations Director located in the Bay area who reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

To be successful in this position you will: You will work in collaboration with other Regional Operations Directors and the Vice President of Operations promoting Electrosonic values with all teams, providing overall support, direction, and management to the assigned regional operation. You are directly responsible for direct oversite, supervision, and development of regional installation team and office support personnel. All other regional operations personnel will report in a dotted line fashion. Additionally, you will partner with regional sales management to support and drive sales productivity, client relationships, and client satisfaction. This role will also function as a client liaison and be accountable for client needs. This manager has industry managerial experience, is self-sufficient, self-motivated, and capable of developing C-Level relationships.

What you will be doing?

    • Provides leadership, guidance and support to regional personnel which includes work allocation, training, employee performance, quality and consistency.
    • Mentor and support all regional staff.
    • Aides in the guidance and support of regional budget planning of the branch, which include business planning, purchasing, and budget preparation and control.
    • Drive regional productivity and cost control.
    • Monitor key metrics and provide guidance to operations management to achieve desired outcomes and results.
    • Proactively work the other departments to ensure that site and installation readiness is a top priority.
    • Proactively perform on-site quality control checks and give feedback to team members of ways to improve installation techniques.
    • Work with installation team members and project management to prepare for upcoming jobs. This consists of site checks, DWG, SOW and BOM reviews before projects start, and informing team members of any discrepancies that are found.
    • Guide and manage staff development.
    • Aide in the development of installation standards and implement training procedures for installation team.
    • Monitor progress of projects conferring with lead techs and project managers to ensure that projects are progressing according to schedule and agreed upon milestones.
    • Ensure all assignments, task performance, and responsibilities are handled in a satisfactory and timely manner.
    • Develop regional subcontractor network.
    • Manages and promotes productive team communication to and from executive management, sales team, and to all operations departments.
    • Seek out opportunities to support team members and strengthen cooperation between departments.
    • Ensures compliance with company’s policies and office is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
    • Perform annual performance reviews.
    • Develops and drives a culture of performance management and accountability.
    • Provide any other support to ensure Electrosonic operates to standards on a daily basis.
    • Seek out opportunities to support team members and strengthen cooperation between departments.

    • Negotiate pricing of subcontractors to the best of your ability.
    • Experience in developing and maintaining regional vendor relationships.
    • Schedule vendor trainings and conduct internal trainings as needed.
    • Provides continuous support of ESI’s recruitment efforts by recruiting locally, participating in interviews, and train/mentor regional talent.
    • Capable of improving and developing process workflows, repeatable processes, and standards.
    • Assist Scheduling, Project Management, and Service in project resource planning and regional utilization of resources.
    • Experience in performing site surveys and productivity assessments as necessary.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical, personnel, or other business-related issues.
    • Ability to supervise and manage task and personnel to achieve organizational objectives.
    • Ability to successfully support all needs of an Audiovisual installation.
    • Proficient experience in understanding of AV signal flow and troubleshooting issues.
    • Proficient in AV installation best practices.
    • Read and understand Drawings and Bill of Materials.
    • Ability to understand and communicate scopes of work requirements to others.
    • Ability to bring projects to successful completion.
    • General understanding of various system types (DSP, controllers, network switches, displays, video walls, and how they interconnect).
    • Strong organizational skills.

 

What experience & qualifications are required?

  • 5 years of AV industry experience.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • 2-3 years management experience.
  • Strong organizational experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel 25%.
  • CTS or CTS-I preferred
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
  • Regularly sit for extended periods of time
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 + pounds.
  • Travel as necessary to support your regional team
