ZYGO seeks a talented and highly motivated software developer with demonstrated knowledge in design, development, implementation and validation of large high-performance software systems. Strong candidates have a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded/parallel applications and strive for elegant solutions to complex problems using strong analytical skills. The candidate must have a strong desire to work within an organization that fosters communication and collaboration across multiple scientific disciplines. All members are encouraged to contribute creatively to our projects. This individual is a key member of the Software Engineering and Product Development teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Produce well-structured, optimized and documented source code that meet or exceed Zygo’s standards
•Collaborate with other Software Engineers as well as other Engineering disciplines, to design and implement new features
•Thoroughly test and validate new and existing features
•Ensure new functionality is compatible with existing code
•Contribute to clear technical design documentation
•Follow established corporate processes and procedures
•Assist with all aspects of software life cycle development
•Manage combination of short and long term activities
•Work independently or as part of a team as required
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills:
•BS degree in Computer Science or related field with 5-8 years experience.
•Practical application of C# or C++
•Working knowledge of design patterns
•Experience building systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
•Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
•Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines
•An understanding of mathematical and physical concepts and translating them to clean software designs
•Eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of the following would be helpful and is considered a plus:
•Familiarity with Python and C++/CLI
•.NET Framework 4.0/4.5/4.6/4.7/Core 2.0/3.0
•Continuous integration solutions, source control systems, unit test frameworks.
•UI Frameworks including WPF
Limited travel required.
