Tech startup TechReady.io is launching this year with one goal: create a “tier zero” for students and tech support. Students can use the site to test-run classroom tech before even arriving on campus. The site allows students to just hit “scan” on any web-page to access info on upload/download speeds and potential browser issues. “No user-owned technology is LMS-friendly by default,” said TechReady.io co-founder, Jay Sample. With negotiations for university-wide implementations of the tech, students can become part-time IT specialists, saving colleges already on tight budgets.
