The UK will end its use of coal by 2025 The Government has moved ahead witha new rule that limits the ‘carbon-intensity’ of power plants. Coal plants will be in violation of the rule unless they are fitted with carbon capture technology. The general consensus been clean technologies should be the way of the future for the UK. And that the government’s efforts should go well beyond coal plants and should include polluting gas-fired power plants too.
