“Top Chef” judge, Tom Colicchio, has opened a new restaurant concept called Small Batch on Long Island, New York. The restaurant’s design features a farmhouse-style, laid back atmosphere The menu features comfort food, including Long Island Crescent Pekin duck with honey nut squash, Swiss chard, fig syrup and black garlic.

Colicchio cited the restaurant’s smoked short rib dish as a prime example of the restaurant’s take on familiar comfort food “We’re definitely letting people know that we’re sourced locally,” Colicchio said. “Hopefully they’ll learn more about the farms in their neighborhoods.”
