In the world of professional audio-visual (AV), going virtual for the industry’s biggest event was actually rather seamless. Chad Tully, Director of Marketing at Z-Band, shared the experience of being an exhibitor at this year’s InfoComm Connect 2020. As a company that provides supports the delivery of enterprise video distribution, they know a lot about the virtual world.
Tully said of the event, “Our goals weren’t very different from in-person events. We were pleased with the experience.” He also noted that the online portal is open until August 31, so the presence was much longer than a two-day show.
Tully reflected that they did use email marketing and other channels to engage with attendees pre-show, promoting their newest product, the Z-IP Encode LS. The encoder allows for live streaming to multiple channels simultaneously.
The introduction of the project certainly makes sense in a time where the pandemic is keeping people home. Tully stated, “Live-streaming is now a necessary feature, not just an add-on. It’s now a necessary tool for houses of worship, concerts, or lectures.”
Tully also talked about Z-Band’s partnership with Good Sports and their upcoming initiative, “Be a Good Sport.” The collaboration with the nonprofit, which donates sports equipment and apparel to youth organizations, aims to raise $2 million. Tully remarked, “We’ve had a fortunate 2020 thus far, and we really wanted to pay that forward and support a great organization.”
