50TH ANNUAL BYRON NELSON REJUVENATES DALLAS

It’s May in Texas, and that means the annual AT&T Byron Nelson golf tournament is taking place. For its 50th anniversary, Byron Nelson is relocating to its former home, and everything old is new again in this unique links-style course in South Dallas. Since 1968, this major golf event has celebrated the life and legacy of Mr. Nelson, a hero in the golf world and his community. In addition to displaying awe-inspiring skills on the green, Mr. Nelson was a model of generosity and integrity, and this event aims to honor him for both.

The course was designed in part to bring elite championship golf back to the Big D. In addition, Trinity Forest Golf Club is partnering with Trinity River Audubon Center in spearheading a Blackland Prairie Restoration Plan that will rejuvenate 75 acres of the land with native grasses and vegetation, providing a natural habitat for indigenous plants and animals. Mr. Nelson is probably smiling from golf heaven at these efforts to keep golf alive while serving the community of Dallas and its eco-structure.

This tournament offers opportunities to witness phenomenal golfing moments as well as create some memorable fan experiences. Those over 21 can watch from a climate-controlled tent via the Grey Goose 19th Hole while sipping cocktails. For the younger crowd, Lennox sponsors a Kid Zone in a super cool family-friendly space, featuring air hockey and foosball for the kids, while parents can enjoy the heat of the action in a comfortable air-conditioned venue.

The tournament is expected to be excellent and the new course well received by the golfing world.  Just like the At&T Byron Nelson tournament, another name synonymous with excellence in golf is Standard Golf. We are proud of our long history of creating superior products for these magnificent courses through our focus on innovation within the game. Like Mr. Nelson, we do what we do for the love of the game. We can’t wait to check out the new home of this historical event that honors the legacy of a great sport and an even greater man.
