April’s mission is to inspire a new era of leadership, one that teaches leaders to value their most precious asset, their people. Aprils’s first leadership book “The Positive Effect” shares her retail journey from PT Sale Associate s to VP of 250 stores, and is packed with practical advice for retail leaders.

Peter Ikeler is Associate Professor of Sociology at the State University of New York, College at Old Westbury. His research centers on post-industrial labor processes and movements, as well as contemporary class structure and consciousness in advanced capitalist countries. He is the author of Hard Sell: Work and Resistance in Retail Chains (Cornell University Press, 2016) and numerous articles in scholarly journals such as The Sociological Quarterly, Work, Employment & Society, Industrial Relations, Critical Sociology and Economic & Industrial Democracy.
