Watch: Citi announces collaborative initiative to empower people living with disabilities

Citi Community Development, New York City, and the National Disability Institute (NDI) recently announced a major national initiative. “Empowered Cities” will aim to help municipalities economically empower and include people living with disabilities. “EmpoweredNYC” is the first of many specific programs planned to offer free professional financial counseling targeted at families living with disabilities.

By focusing on new solutions, expanding education, and specializing services, Empowered Cities hopes to put power back in the hands of people often forgotten. This public-private partnership will propel our work forward to develop new ways of achieving broader inclusion of all of our citizens by leveling the economic playing field.
