Live Updates From OTC Day Three

UPDATE: 4:21 p.m.

Digitization is among the biggest themes at OTC 2019, and ARC Specialties (booth #705) just sent over a photo giving a behind-the-scenes look at an interview its team did on the subject. Automation is keeping offshore rigs safer, while also providing much-needed data to the oil and gas industry.

UPDATE: 3:54 p.m.

Stress Engineering just submitted to MarketScale a photo of the company accepting a Spotlight on New Technology award at OTC today. It was honored for developing a new process to assess offshore riser data. This helps oil and gas companies determine the strength and health of their subsea infrastructure.

UPDATE: 3:21 p.m.

Orion Instruments Manager of Engineering, Projects and Documentation Rick Lawrence sent in a photo of the company’s booth, which it is sharing with parent company Magnetrol.

Lawrence spoke with MarketScale on Tuesday about the state of downstream infrastructure and what the industry is doing to safely and more efficiently refine oil. Make sure to catch our extended interview soon!

UPDATE: 1:16 p.m.

Siemens Energy was awarded two new technology awards at OTC today. A representative from the company sent us live looks at the company’s booth this afternoon.

Stay tuned for our extended interviews with Bid Team Group Manager Torben Rasmussen and Global Head of Portfolio Management and Innovation Stig Settemsdal coming out soon!

UPDATE: 12:25 p.m.

At the Oceaneering booth, (#2060) the Freedom remotely operated vehicle (ROV) is attracting a large crowd. The Freedom is helping oil and gas companies monitor pipelines and rigs below sea level while also taking workers away from hazardous situations.

Day three at OTC is underway at NRG Park in Houston, Texas! There is still plenty to explore, and we have received this update from Neil Slater, Head of Events and Sponsorship for DNV GL.

At booth 4253, DNV GL is giving tutorials on its virtual reality platform. The technology is used to train oil and gas professionals on the challenges, duties, risks and security measures they need to know about before heading offshore.

Make sure to submit your updates from the show to publications@marketscale.com or tweet to @EnergyMKSL
