Statoil No Longer Wants ‘Oil’ In Its Name
Equinor. For equality and a nod to Norwegian history. This is the new name being adopted by Statoil ASA, Norway’s largest petroleum company. The organization is spending the equivalent of $30 million for its rebranding campaign in an effort to distance itself from oil and gas and pursue greener energy sources, a philosophy in line with Norway’s efforts to reduce petroleum reliance.
