OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Work, a workspace it describes as letting marketing teams bring customer research, sales conversations, and campaign performance into one place to develop strategy and creative, according to OpenAI's marketing solutions page. The company has paired this with ChatGPT Ads, a new advertising surface OpenAI says is meant to reach people as they explore options and compare choices inside ChatGPT.

What OpenAI has built so far

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Work supports plugins connecting to tools including HubSpot, Salesforce, Adobe, Figma, Mailchimp, Slack, Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, BigQuery, Airtable, monday.com, Klaviyo, and Semrush. OpenAI also offers its own Data and Product Design plugins for what it describes as pre-built workflows covering campaign analysis, creative development, and prototyping. These are OpenAI's own descriptions of its product; independent reviews of adoption or effectiveness were not available at publication.

Meta's automation timeline remains contested

Marketing Brew reported in April 2026 that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has described a long-term vision in which advertising on Meta platforms could eventually require only a credit card and a stated business goal, with AI handling the rest. Marketing Brew cited an earlier Wall Street Journal report suggesting that level of automation could arrive as soon as the end of 2026, but noted that media buyers and marketers it spoke with expect the timeline to be further off, with mixed reviews of current AI tools.

Marketing Brew also reported that Meta has continued to expand its Advantage+ AI suite, which covers creative, targeting, and budget optimization, and has deployed a newer ad retrieval system called Andromeda. Some advertisers told Marketing Brew they have begun noticing Meta's Manus AI agent surfacing within Ads Manager.

Events adding AI-generated summaries

Separately, Event Marketer reported it is extending its partnership with Voxo for the Experiential Marketing Summit 2026, held May 18 to May 20, 2026, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Event Marketer said the expanded deployment adds AI-generated session summaries, a five-minute summary podcast, and an event chatbot that makes speaker content searchable. The partnership builds on a 2025 implementation that Event Marketer said delivered real-time session summaries within minutes of each session.

Taken together, these moves show OpenAI and Meta pursuing separate approaches to automating parts of marketing work, from campaign planning to ad buying, while event organizers apply similar AI summarization tools to content distribution. How marketing teams adapt processes around these tools, including governance and measurement practices, was not addressed in the available reporting.
