MarketScale Overseas at ISE: Day Three in Amsterdam with the Show’s Managing Director

The stunning displays at ISE might grab most of the attention, but it is the insight learned at the show that will truly bring the Pro AV industry into the future. All week, MarketScale has been gathering expert opinion from the show and hearing what the insiders had to say.

On today’s podcast from ISE 2019 in Amsterdam, we speak with professionals from all over the AV world, and the actual planet as well.

Mike Blackman, Managing Director, ISE

MarketScale met up with recurring guest of the podcast and ISE Managing Director Mike Blackman on Wednesday afternoon. He gave us his impressions of the event, how the organization measures success and what attendees can look forward to in 2020, when ISE heads to Barcelona, Spain.

“When you actually go and see the standard of design from the exhibits, what the manufacturers are actually doing, it’s phenomenal. To see how much effort and creativity has gone in to that, it fascinates me always,” he said.

Tim Albright, Founder, AVNation

We also caught up with former podcast guest and Founder of AVNation Tim Albright. He gave us professional perspective on the major themes of ISE 2019. Also of value, Albright dished out some helpful Amsterdam travel tips.

“The general theme is Next Generation of existing products and technologies. You have folks that are taking tried and true products that have a lot of name recognition and legacy and equity and they have reimagined them,” he said.

Edgar Morales, Regional Sales Manager, Adena

At the Adena booth, Edgar Morales told us about the company’s solutions and how they improve live video conferencing and streaming. The product on display has application in the eSports world but fits into a broader trend of Pro AV’s integration into corporate office environments.

Chelsea Gao, Sales Manager, Prima

Digital signage and interactive displays are largely associated with vertical walls but this Chinese company has taken that technology and integrated it into a table top. Designed for educators and work environments, Prima tables can be adjusted for height and allow for significant collaboration.

“In the future, teachers [will] not want to use chalk because it causes dust, they will like to use annotation software. They can write something on a screen, it is very convenient,” Gao said of the future of the classroom.

Graziella Spizzi, Managing Director, Fabrimex Systems

Spizzi told us about Fabrimex’s line of products on display at ISE including a thorough rundown of the capabilities of HDBaseT technology. The elimination of multiple cables is something that can simplify the process of any Pro AV integrator.

“It’s a technology to put different signals on to one cable so you can send power, video, audio, USB and ethernet signals over one single cable,” Spizzi summed up Fabrimex’s product.

ISE is not just about speaking with exhibitors though. With a diverse audience of attendees from all over the world, speaking to people wandering the show floor can give a true interpretation of the show. MarketScale asked three people what their impressions of the show were and what they enjoyed about the experience in Amsterdam this week.
