Paul Mitchell, the President of Indy Autonomous Challenge, discussed his company’s mission at CES 2024 and highlighted the significance of this technology in improving highway safety and transportation.

Discussing the company’s IAC AV-24 model at CES 2024, he further talked about the potential uses that autonomous racing vehicles can offer research.

“This is an applied research platform for validating that the hardware and the software that’s going into commercial vehicles can actually handle speeds above 100, 150 miles an hour so that someday we can save lives on the highway and speed up transportation for everybody,” Mitchell said.

Hi. I'm Paul Mitchell. I'm president of Indy Autonomous Challenge, and we are here at CES 2024. Behind me, you can see one of the world's fastest autonomous vehicles. This is the ICAB24. It's an autonomous race car drives itself. We have to have ten of these cars, and they're programmed by university teams throughout the world. We have nine teams representing eighteen universities who develop AI drivers that operate these race cars speeds as high as a hundred and eighty miles per hour in head to head racing scenarios. You might ask yourself, why are we doing this? Is it to try to replace human race car drivers? Absolutely not. This is an applied research platform for validating that the hardware and the software that's going into commercial, it's on vehicles can actually handle speeds above a hundred, a hundred and fifty miles an hour so that someday we can save lives on the highway and speed up, trans portation for for everybody. What's new this year, at at CES is we're rolling out our next gen, race car platform. So the the chassis is the same. The engine is the same, but is filled with a completely updated robot. It was a really exciting engineering project that we worked on with a number of commercial partners companies like Lumenar, Continental, D space, Marelli, NI, Vector NAV, and others. You can check these cars out in person if you're here at CS by coming to the autonomous challenge at CES, which is gonna be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from three thirty to six PM on January eleventh. See you there.

Asking the most exciting, innovative, cutting-edge companies in transportation/mobility the “Are We There Yet?” question is a lot of fun, and the focus of Grant Harrell's top video podcast series! And, it’s not a bad question as so much is truly happening in this space today. What used to be trains, planes, and automobiles is now robots, drones, and spaceships, and Grant is curious about how soon we are all going to see these technologies in action, at scale. Very few of us enjoy a car that drives itself, have dinner delivered via drone, or have taken a vacation to space, but these amazing technologies and applications, as Grant discovers within his "Are We There Yet?" podcast series, are here, or as he likes to say, "we're there"! Grant also serves as the Head of Transportation/Mobility for MarketScale, one of the fastest-growing, most-successful, fun b2b media companies in the industry! MarketScale works behind the scenes for many of the top brands today, building their brand, engaging their communities, and telling their incredible stories! Within Grant's leadership of MarketScale's Transportation/Mobility division, he enjoys working with top companies within automotive to aviation, micro-mobility to marine, drones to space exploration, and everyone in between. And, Grant encourages you to reach out to him directly and set up a meeting, because as he says, "whats the point of all of this transportation/mobility technology development if we aren't headed somewhere fun to meet someone interesting"!
