The Fastest 90 Seconds in Hockey: Celena Rae’s Sprint for Stars Fans

Live entertainment can be described as a high-wire act without a net underneath. There is no margin for error and the slightest delay can completely derail an act.

For the Dallas Stars’ national anthem singer and in-game host Celena Rae, intermissions are literally a race against the clock. A typical routine requires her to be on the ice to conduct a fan-participant game like human bowling and then in 90 seconds be upstairs on the Plaza Level to make a presentation on behalf of the organization to a season ticket holder.

“There is nobody else in the league (NHL) that does what I do, I do not believe,” she says.

The Fort-Worth native is a staple before and during each game.

Rae is no stranger to the spotlight though. She was introduced to a national audience as a semi-finalist on American Idol in 2004 and is currently the face of the Stars’ game day presentation.

MarketScale went behind-the-scenes with Rae to see just how hectic it can be to run a live entertainment program and to see how close she cuts it between hits.

Can she beat the clock?
