Watch: 2018 Grammys Ratings Fell From Past Years
Overnight returns from Nielsen Media gave the ceremony a 12.7 rating spread across households, having dropped 21 percent from last year’s show and making it the lowest rated show since 2013. The 2017 Grammys received a 16.0 rating among households with one million new viewers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 2017 show was the most well-received in two years with an average of about 26 million viewers and a 78 rating among adults ages 18 to 49.
