WEFTEC 2019: 3 Things to Check Out

WEFTEC 2019 Is Upon Us

The 92nd Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference is held Sept. 21 – 25, 2019 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. MarketScale will be at the show, and we compiled a list of 3 things that we think you should see at WEFTEC.

1. Scavenger Hunt

The WEFTEC 2019 Scavenger Hunt begins officially Monday at 8:30 a.m. It will be active until Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., after which entries will not be accepted.

How to Play
Pick up your Scavenger Hunt play card at the Membership Booth to get started.

Collect stamps from all participating locations at WEFTEC. (Participants who don’t submit a fully stamped card by the conclusion of the game period are not eligible to win.)

Completed scavenger hunt cards will be put into a drawing for a prize. One winner will be selected each day. The prizes are

Monday: a $50 American Express gift card
Tuesday: JBL Flip 4 Bluetooth stereo
Wednesday: an Amazon Echo Show 5.
Winners will be announced in the WEF Membership booth located in the WEF Plaza South Hall at 3 p.m. each day.

2. Innovation Showcase

Innovation helps move the business-as-usual thinking forward into something better – more cost-effective, more efficient, more user-friendly. At the 8th Annual WEFTEC Innovation Showcase, WEF and its Innovation Partners, BlueTech Research and Imagine H2O, create a unique program for entrepreneurs, investors, customers, and regulators that puts the spotlight on water sector innovation and provides access to the leaders and the technologies making it all happen.

The Innovation Showcase embraces learning through exhibits, educational sessions, and networking events covering:

  • Innovation trends in the industrial and municipal markets
  • Financial innovation and investment opportunities
  • Piloting and partnering with new technology companies
  • Building the regulatory environment to support innovation
  • Using data to underpin industrial and municipal system upgrades

3. Beer Garden

The beers will be available for tasting on Monday and Tuesday from 12 to 4 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Beer Garden will be located at Booth 7751 in North Hall B.

Much of the beer served will be made with recycled water. (The sustainable beer will be supplemented with other beers from the convention center.) Sustainable beers will be brewed by

  • Unreconciled Brewing Chicago,
  • Clean Water Services Pure Water Brew,
  • CDM Smith
  • the Kentucky/Tennessee Water Environment Association, and
  • WEF’s own Patrick Dube.

Physical Retail’s Next Infrastructure Layer: Item-Level Intelligence with Radar
June 4, 2026

Physical retail is under pressure to become as measurable and responsive as e-commerce. That gap matters because stores still account for 80% of U.S. retail sales, making…

From Institutional Excellence to Population-Level Access: How Pakistan Can Bridge Its Healthcare Divide
June 1, 2026

Healthcare systems are under pressure almost everywhere, but the strain is especially visible in lower-resource settings where demand is rising faster than infrastructure. In Pakistan, that pressure is playing out across a system that has to serve more than 250 million people with limited public investment. Public health spending remains below 1% of GDP,…
