At General Motors, he was integral to the launch of the Colorado and Canyon mid-size pickups. His journey in the advanced battery sector includes steering five start-ups to success, notably leading American Battery Systems to a strategic acquisition by Komatsu Ltd. in December 2023.

Currently, Dr. Warner is the Chief Customer Officer for American Battery Solutions, a company he co-founded in 2018. His industry influence extends to serving as Chairman Emeritus at NAATBatt International and contributing to SAE International through multiple committees and authored standards. Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors for Soteria Battery Innovation Group, Energy Supply Developers, and advises advanced solid-state battery company Enpower Greentech.

Dr. Warner is a thought leader and author of three seminal books on lithium-ion batteries: The Handbook of Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Design (First and Second Editions) and Lithium-Ion Chemistries.
