California governor proposes state’s first public, online community college
Governor Brown recently unveiled a budget including funds to open an online community college. The school would focus on short-term credentials and skills in fields like manufacturing and healthcare. What we’re talking about are job skills … that target adult learners — those who are in the workforce with no college or some college but no credential. Recent combinations of counseling and tutoring has closed the performance gap between online and traditional learning, making Governor Brown optimistic.
