What Will Cement Plant-Based Meat on Store Shelves

 

We have seen fast food places start to introduce plant based meat into their menu, whether if its the Impossible Whopper and Impossible Nuggets at Burger King or Quiznos plant based corn beef, the food industry is starting to pay attention to the plant based meat industry. With that attention comes the question could this be a legitimate player on grocery shelves? Is this something that can cause consumers to casually try or seek out?

Justin Honore asked Garth Brown who is a grass fed beef and lamb farmer in central New York for Cairncrest Farm about the level of interest for plant based meat and he is skeptical that the industry has a product at the moment that is ready to compete with real meat.
