Dallas’ Historic Cabana Motor Hotel To Get New Lease on Life
Fifty-five years after it first opened in 1963, The Cabana Motor Hotel near Downtown Dallas is set for a facelift and eventual grand re-opening. Once a burgeoning upscale motor inn that hosted the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Hoffa and The Beatles, the Cabana ultimately shut down.
The vacant historic hotel was purchased by DFW development group, Centurion America, which recently completed the successful renovation of the Downtown Statler hotel. The group reportedly plans to restore The Cabana to its former glory and make it a modern luxury hotel while keeping the historic building’s soul intact.
Before construction begins, MarketScale filmed the former hotel, which was reduced to a detention center by the city of Dallas from the late eighties until 2009, to imagine what this historic property may become in the future.
MarketScale will be following the project step-by-step so stay tuned for updates on the Cabana hotel.
