AV Goals: Mori Digital Art Museum Redefines the Art Experience

Classical art will always have a home in museums around the world. The preservation of art inspires the world to learn and think. In today’s digital age, art is not restrained by picture frames or even physical materials.

The Modi Building Digital Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan is today given people a glimpse of what art museums may look like tomorrow and beyond. Branding itself as a borderless museum, the Modi is filling its 10,000 square-foot space by enlisting the power of 520 computers and 470 projectors.

Step inside to see how this museum is transforming expectations in modern art.

The art was created by teamLab Borderless in collaboration with Epson, a Japanese electronics company. The Museum opened in June with more than one dozen exhibits.

Each of the museum’s exhibits is designed to flow into multiple rooms and be completely interactive. Guests are able to touch the walls, and some displays are three-dimensional.

The museum emphasizes the importance of human immersion into art and the world at large.

The border-free concept is designed to allow people to lose themselves in the exhibits.
