Extra Innings with Jared Orton, President of the Savannah Bananas

Extra Innings gives you exclusive behind-the-scenes looks and commentary on MarketScale’s Welcome to the Show, a reality television series that follows the Savannah Bananas, the collegiate summer league baseball team that is changing the sport with their brand of Fan-First Entertainment.

On this episode, we chat with Jared Orton, President of the Savannah Bananas. We get to hear from one of the head-honchos at the Banana’s about their thoughts on Welcome to the Show and the reception it got locally. More importantly, we check up on what the Banana’s are up to during the off-season, and how they play the challenging game of keeping fans engaged when there’s no baseball on the field.

Orton explains the fan-first social media strategies and event planning the team pulls off during the off-season, including their renowned Field of Food Trucks, and how it all ties into their overall message of community. Playing on that food & beverage note, we also get insight on the financial stability of their all-you-can-eat concessions, and how important the food & beverage experience is to maintaining the Banana’s brand and fan-first repertoire.
