The NBA and Intel have announced a partnership that will merge sports and technology. The two brands evaluate global tech startups for potential investment and commercial collaboration in a multiyear program. According to Deloitte, venture investments in sports reached $1.5 billion in 2017 and is expected to grow.

At the start of this season, the NBA made Intel the authorized provider of virtual reality for NBA broadcast partners. The NBA has always been at the forefront of sports technology. Current League Pass subscribers get a game each week in virtual reality this season, powered by NextVR.
