Unpacking Wellbeing in the Workplace

The term “wellbeing” is often thrown around, but its importance cannot be overstated. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), individuals with higher levels of wellbeing have a decreased risk of disease, speedier recovery, and increased longevity. Additionally, higher wellbeing levels are associated with improved work productivity.

In light of these benefits, employers are increasingly recognizing the importance of promoting wellbeing and wellness among their employees. On the latest episode of SECURE by FinFit, Charles Lattimer, host, spoke with Daniel Posa, founder of Workplace Wellbeing Advisors and Vice Chair of the Workplace Wellbeing Initiative at the Global Wellness Institute, about the importance and measurement of wellbeing and wellness in the workplace.

During the conversation, Posa discussed her journey into the wellbeing space, insights on culturally contextualizing wellbeing, and the impact of the pandemic on work-life balance. Posa explained wellbeing is synonymous with living a fulfilling life and by measuring wellbeing and tying it to metrics that matter, progress can be made in both employee wellbeing and overall company performance.

Employers looking to promote wellbeing and wellness among their employees can benefit from the insights shared in this episode. SECURE by FinFit is available for streaming now.
