Weaver: Beyond the Numbers explores Compliance Challenges in Provider Relief Fund Reporting

Weaver, a leading financial advisory and accounting services firm, has released a new thought leadership piece from their Beyond the Number Podcast series. This episode explores the compliance challenges faced by healthcare providers reporting on the Provider Relief Fund. The fund was created in response to the pandemic and has distributed over $19 billion to healthcare providers in need. While the fund provided critical financial assistance to many, reporting requirements have proven difficult for experienced and novice program participants.

Weaver’s Health Care Services Partner-in-Charge, Anna Stevens, spoke with Weaver’s State Government Practice Leader, Adam Jones, about the unique challenges of complying with the Provider Relief Fund reporting requirements. The conversation included confusion around the need to report specific relief funding and compliance requirements when the government automatically issues funds and client questions on how to account for the funds. Weaver is aiding clients in managing these challenges.

Stevens has over ten years of experience providing accounting services to healthcare organizations and has served clients in various for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare entities. Jones has two decades of experience in state government, including nine years as a Deputy Education Commissioner in Texas. He has extensive experience in organizational assessment, IT assessment, strategic governance, and general management consulting.

As healthcare providers continue to navigate the reporting requirements of the Provider Relief Fund, Weaver’s thought leadership offers valuable insights and assistance in addressing compliance challenges.
