How COVID-19 Has Shifted the Landscape of Industries Around the World

The novel coronavirus and the ensuing COVID-19 pandemic have affected how business is done in each one of the world’s industries.

In this video, you’ll hear from a wide range of thought-leaders and industry experts about how the pandemic has touched their work, specifically, giving you unmatched insight into how the movers and shakers are adapting and promoting flexibility during this uncertain period and into the new normal.

Mitchell Schermer, an attorney with Smolker, Bartlett, Loeb, Hinds & Thompson who practices complex business litigation, said the physical aspect of his work has shifted the most, with Zoom and other remote connectivity options standing in for traditional hearings and court sessions.

Nick Wise, founder of Liberty Outdoors, Inc., which provides outdoor equipment like kayaks, paddleboards, and more, as well as tours and rentals, said business from out-of-state customers has almost completely dried up in the wake of the pandemic, though weekends have still been very busy with locals itching to get out of the house. Now, Wise said, it’s a matter of getting those locals to come more often and during the week.

Finally, Civil Defense Attorney Chris Thibodeaux agreed with Schermer, noting that nearly all of his work has migrated to Zoom as the world continues to navigate the implications of the pandemic until a permanent solution is achieved.
