Amazon is at the head of the pack of websites for pet product purchases earning 55 percent of those who purchased pet products online. Chewy, PetSmart, Petco, Walmart and Sam’s Club are following suit.
Sales of pet products through Amazon are expected to continue to grow with the launch of their private-label “Wag” brand of dry dog food. Amazon’s sales of pet products reached $2 billion, a 40 percent increase from 2016. Wag joins the Amazon’s list of private-label brands in more than 70 markets available for purchase only by Amazon Prime members.
