Listen: Chili’s Restaurants Hit by Data Breach
The popular Tex-Mex restaurant chain Chili’s is another retailer struck by data breaches within the last year.
Brinker International restaurant group announced on Saturday, May 12th, that credit card
information from their customers had been compromised at Chili’s locations.
According to their statement, “While the investigation is still ongoing, we believe that malware was used to gather payment card information, including credit or debit card numbers and cardholder names, from our payment-related systems for in-restaurant purchases at certain Chili’s restaurants.”
Thankfully, it has been confirmed that no social security numbers or date of birth records were released during the incident.
