Watch: Best Buy Becomes Latest to Report Data Breach
The retailer announced on Friday that the  chat support service hack from Sep. 27 to Oct. 12 has affected “a number of Best Buy customers.” Best Buy issued a statement saying, “as best we can tell, only a small fraction of our overall online customer population could have been caught up in this . . . incident whether or not they used the chat function.’’ Sears and Delta reported their customers were affected by a data breach through 7, as well.Best Buy promised to contact any affected customers and assured they will not be held responsible for any fraudulent charges.
