Initially, there were two offerings for small and medium businesses: Suitcase Fusion, a desktop app for font management, and Teamsync, a similar app configured for use with Teams. Connect Fonts combines the features of Suitcase Fusion and Teamsync into one product. Customers who previously used Suitcase Fusion or Teamsync can now access all the team sharing and cloud functionality of Connect Fonts without any extra charges, using their existing logins.

On the enterprise side, there was Universal Type Server (UTS), a traditional on-premise software installed on a custom server and managed by IT professionals. The Universal Type Client is a desktop app for end users. Many UTS customers have already migrated to Connect Fonts, which now includes enterprise functionality such as single sign-on, analytics, and font licensing.

To transition the remaining UTS customers, new features like advanced permissions will be introduced. The advantage for Connect customers is that they will have access to these enterprise-level features at no additional cost. Currently, Connect customers can already find single sign-on, analytics, and licensing available in their Connect admin area.

So in the beginning, We had two small, medium business offerings. Suitcase Fusion is the desktop app designed to help individuals manage their fonts. Teamsync is essentially the same desktop app, but configured for use with Teams. Connect fonts is essentially a suitcase fusion and Teamsync squashed together. Previously suitcase fusion and team sync customers can now take advantage of all the team sharing and cloud functionality available in Connect at no additional charge. Their suitcase fusion or Team sync logins will work with connect fonts. On the enterprise side, we had we have universe type server or commonly known as UTS. This is a traditional on premise piece of software designed to be installed on a custom server and managed by an IT professional. Universal type client is a desktop app designed for the end users. Many UTS customers have already migrated over to connect fonts. We've made this possible by introducing enterprise functionality into Connect bonds. Things like single sign on, which was launched last year oops. I have that in wrong. Things like analytics, which we launched and continue to build out, and then font licensing, which we launched last week. And I'll show you a little brief bit about that bit later. To get the remaining UTS customers over, we'll continue to introduce new functionality like advanced permissions and more. The good news for our Connect customers is everyone will have access to these enterprise level features at no additional cost. If you go into your Connect admin area today, you'll find single sign on, analytics, and licensing available to you.

Apple Spent Years Insourcing Chips. It Just Locked Broadcom In Through 2031.

Apple extended its supplier agreement with Broadcom through 2031 for custom wireless and networking chips, choosing to lock in a critical supplier rather than insource these components despite years of vertical integration efforts. The deal reflects a broader supply-chain lesson: securing long-term contracts with specialized suppliers reduces volatility and risk more effectively than pursuing complete vertical integration.

  • 01Vertical integration has limits; even well-resourced companies benefit from locking in specialized suppliers over attempting to build everything in-house
  • 02Long-term supplier contracts reduce planning uncertainty for both parties, particularly when one customer represents 20 percent of supplier revenue
  • 03Demand for bespoke silicon designed for specific buyers is becoming central to semiconductor business, making strategic supplier relationships more valuable than transactional ones
