At EAA’s AirVenture 2023 exhibition, Amanda Simpson, Vice President of Research and Technology and Head of Sustainability for Airbus Americas, showcased the Delta-branded A350 airliner, emphasizing Airbus’s commitment to pioneering sustainable aerospace. The A350, with its carbon fiber technology, is designed for reduced emissions, and Airbus has introduced new engine options on other models that use up to 20% less fuel. Looking to the future, Airbus is exploring 100% sustainable aviation fuel, advanced aerodynamics, electric and hybrid aircraft, and alternative fuels like hydrogen that emit no carbon. The company continues to focus on innovative technologies for the next generation of aircraft to ensure a sustainable future for aerospace.
