MegaRust 2019 Aims to Stop Corrosion of U.S. Navy Vessels
The American Society of Naval Engineers is hosting its annual conference, MegaRust, this week in Virginia. The event aims to combat corrosion issues among naval vessels and spur dialogue between government and commercial organizations.
Corrosion is a serious threat to the lifespan of naval ships, seaplanes and can also lead to major expenses. With steel being the most prominent material in naval equipment, making the need to combat rust extremely important.
The above photo was submitted by Transhield, Inc., an exhibitor at this week’s event. The company is showcasing its ArmorDillo® and XT covers, which are used to cut down rust build up.
