Brandon Hall of Brandon Industries Speaks to MarketScale at LFI 2018

In the digital signage world, small businesses remain important players in competing with large-scale solutions companies across the country. The digital signage industry alone is valued as a $3bn dollar market—with tremendous growth predicted in the future as technology becomes more affordable to produce and distribute. Brandon Industries, a family owned and operated streetscape solution provider, has served the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond with digital signage, mailboxes, and outdoor lighting solutions for over 30 years.

MarketScale spoke with company president Brandon Hall to learn more about the impact Brandon is having as a small business on this booming industry.

Brandon prides itself on keeping with tradition. The company launched in 1987 by seizing an opportunity in a changing market.

“The lighting industry sort of reset itself, so we saw an opportunity to jump in and be competitive with anyone in the lighting industry,” Hall said.

Since then, the value of quality, long lasting solutions has not only been a staple of its business structure– but also a staple in its product base, according to Hall.

“Whether it’s traditional acorn, downlight or carriage light–all three very traditional lights, these are products that we do really well,” Hall said.

Combine Brandon’s traditional lighting solutions along with partnerships from casting companies, including casting in-house, the finished product is a system that enables total quality control on Brandon’s end.

“From the alloy of the aluminum to how it’s painted and packaged, we manage every step of that process,” Hall noted.

The decreasing price of LED lighting continues to be a trend that Mr. Hall foresees Brandon Industries embracing in the future. Many lighting solutions like high pressure sodium lights have been used by companies solely because of cost. Now, higher quality products are becoming far more affordable than these traditional options, a trend Hall is excited to explore.

“You’re going to see continued improvements of LED– the technology, everything else. It’s going to be so cost-effective, it will be impossible to refuse,” he said.
