Owning the Walkthrough Process with Ricardo Regalado of Route

Ricardo Regalado joins today’s MarketScale podcast for a conversation about Route, a data-driven platform for the building services industry. The product allows for property walkthroughs to be digitized and for everyone to be able to access pictures, client notes, measurements, and sketches within a matter of seconds.

Walking through a new potential site is always the best way to get a feel of the true nature of the site because every office is different. It is important to know where the conference room is; what types of materials the flooring, walls, and windows are made out of; the location of the lobby; and which areas are the hot-spots for a particular client. In the past, this was done with a laser pointer, cell phone, pen and paper, clipboard, or a variety of different tools, but everybody’s opinion on “clean” is different, for example, so it is necessary to have everyone’s data points in the same space to easily compare.

Additionally, keeping these all together prevents them from getting lost, and allows those back in the office to have the same instantaneous access to the information as the field representatives.

Not only does Route help with organization, but it also allows you to provide speedier service. You can give a quote within minutes, and not have to worry about misestimating a figure. By being so accurate, recording every, single thing the customer says, and compiling texts and emails, users can keep track of what is important to each, individual customer “so that the customer knows you listened.”

The digital walk-through is the biggest piece of the puzzle, but you’ll still need to know how to create this portrait of the client’s facility, as well as some helpful tips for conducting a successful walkthrough.
