ASU+GSV Summit: Training the Next Generation of AI Innovators

AI Camp was founded on a simple premise — revolutionizing artificial intelligence education.

AI has an enormous role to play in the future of essentially every industry around the globe, but innovations in the space need talented and passionate people to bring them to life.

AI Camp’s Michael Zhang sat down with MarketScale’s Kevin Hogan for this episode of The Age of Digital Learning, live from the show floor of the ASU+GSV Summit. The event represents the future of education, and its role as one of the first in-person events of this magnitude in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic makes the 2021 show an extremely critical one.

Hogan and Zhang outlined the vision for AI Camp, which is to not only teach students about the exciting potential of AI, but to help them prepare to enter the workforce with networking and leadership skills, as well.

“AI Camp is doing something amazing,” Zhang said. “We’re teaching middle school and high school students about AI, which is unheard of.

“I think there’s a misconception [about the difference] between strong AI, which is replacing humans, and automation. … We’re using AI to automate so many things. For example, in education, you could use facial recognition to recognize if a student is engaged or not.”
