Edtech Conferences Move Online

Two of the most influential events in the world of edtech, EdTechX and CoSN, are going virtual this month. Each will be using new conferencing and networking tools to try and if not replicate at least replace the intangible “schmooze” factor that comes with in-person events. Their experiments will also be good models for education institutions that will most likely have to resort to similar setups.

Some highlights from the planners:

May 12&13—EdTechX Summit, originally planned for Tobacco Dock, London

The online EdTechX Summit will curate a diverse selection of international thought leaders to share their perspectives on how leading institutions have rapidly transitioned online, how companies have pivoted to maximise work-from-home models, the global leadership lessons learned and what EdTech trends will emerge in a post-COVID-19 world. Through an on-demand content library, the online EdTechX Summit will offer attendees access to 50+ sessions featuring 80+ speakers – all instantly available from 12 May.

The online EdTechX Summit will offer a bespoke, AI powered, networking platform to help make new connections, have 1-to-1 video meetings and connect with colleagues from around the world – all without leaving your home. Everything you need to do business is already in the EdTechX platform – simply engage with new connections using our built-in chat or video calls.

Or, have the EdTechX platform suggest a series of tailor-made connections to then engage in our Virtual Speed Networking sessions to have 6 introductory meetings in 60 minutes. The EdTechX platform will remain open and active  to network, connect and watch new on-demand content that we will continue to add until our next summit in June 2021.

May 19-21—CoSN2020/A Breakthrough Virtual Experience, originally planned for The Washington Hilton

The CoSN Annual Conference includes 3 plenary sessions, dozens of breakout sessions, additional workshops, and pre-conference events designed to maximize professional development for your entire school district team. The Virtual Conference environment seeks to create an environment that enables a personalized and authentic learning environment with an emphasis on peer-to-peer sharing and networking. Content at a CoSN Conference is rooted in this team-oriented approach, so we encourage you to bring your school district team.
