Finding the Right Provider with Sector 7 Energy

Energy consulting has been at the forefront of helping businesses explore different energy providers. Sector 7 Energy, a Dallas based energy consulting firm, is a refreshing new face in the industry.

Their mission is simple: to become the first honest, effective, and customer-centric energy consulting firm in North America– a mission they fervently strive to achieve. Sector 7 energy consultant Joseph Dougherty spoke with MarketScale to discuss the company and trends he sees in the industry.

Dougherty’s job involves comparison and analysis and the company has a simple way of operating. Dougherty reviews energy bills, then consultants work with the city to gather historical usage, draws comparisons with other buildings of similar nature, and negotiates with energy companies to give their customers the best prices for their energy consumption needs. It is a service that many more companies traditionally reliant on nonrenewable energy like coal are beginning to utilize.

“With the coal plants shutting down here in Texas, it has caused the supply to drop and forced prices upwards,” Dougherty said. “It is anticipated to continue going upwards for the remainder of the year.”

Coal production is down nationwide, and large businesses are beginning to feel the pressure. While the fossil fuel industry has seen some setbacks in coal production, the federal government is providing a much more business friendly regulatory environment. That’s why Dougherty is excited about the future of Sector 7 Energy and their growing clientele.

“I see a lot of growth since the deregulation industry is relatively new,” he said. “We will continue to grow alongside Houston as a city and as the demand for electricity continues to increase.”
