How Companies Can Benefit from Working with Volta Insite

Driving Technology Solutions for a more sustainable future doesn’t happen in a bubble. Commercial HVAC Service providers like Service Logic rely on close relationships to improve what they do and vice versa. One partnership Service Logic values is the one they have with Volta Energy.

Volta Knowledge host Tyler Kern wanted to learn more about the benefits these partnerships yield, and who better to talk collaboration than two friends who know a thing or two about working with each other? Denis Kouroussis, Founder & CEO of Volta Energy, met Greg Crumpton, VP of Service Logic and the host of Straight Outta Crumpton, back in 2009. The two partnered on Kouroussis’ Atom Power startup. Kouroussis is also a former guest on Crumpton’s show. Today, it was Crumpton’s chance to return the favor. He joined Kouroussis and Kern on Volta Knowledge to talk about the importance of their longstanding relationship and how it benefits the industry.

While Crumpton is not intimately involved in battery and energy storage technology, his world intersects with Volta’s regarding data centers and mission-critical environments. Energy generation and storage are essential components for both.

Kern’s discussion with Crumpton and Kouroussis highlights several key topics, including:

  • The benefit of partnering with experienced knowledge leaders to better understand the needs of the industry
  • The importance of continuing education to stay on top of trends that will lead to better solutions for companies
  • What the future holds for the development and growth of Volta Energy and its relationships with partners like Crumpton and Service Logic

“We are looking at a roadmap of reducing our hardware costs, making it a part of an enterprise software solution,” Kouroussis said. “Whereby we can deploy on less critical items that are just as important, possibly. But one of our challenges up to now has been the overall implementation costs. If we can reduce the hardware costs, I think we can become ubiquitous in the electrical industry.”

Denis Kouroussis is an engineer with more than twenty years of experience in computer and electrical engineering. Kouroussis holds several patents in energy control enablement, smart-grid adaptive power management systems, and multi-level data center consolidated power controls. In addition to founding Volta Energy, Kouroussis is also the Founder & CSO of Atom Power.

Greg Crumpton is the VP of Service Logic and the Straight Outta Crumpton podcast host. Crumpton has more than forty years of experience as a full-service mechanical and mission-critical environment contractor. His expertise lies in the service, maintenance, and repair of mission-critical cooling (Heat Rejection) and electrical infrastructures and the comfort cooling surrounding them.

Transportation Management Systems Don’t Compete With Carriers, Brokers, or Shippers — They Align Them
February 10, 2026

Transportation management systems are undergoing a quiet but consequential shift. Once viewed primarily as tools for tracking loads and storing paperwork, modern TMS platforms are increasingly expected to function as the operational backbone of logistics organizations. As freight volumes continue to fluctuate, margins remain tight, and supply chains rely on a growing mix of…

As Gen Z enters the workforce, they bring expectations shaped by a desire for meaningful work, clear development paths, and work-life balance—rather than traditional, one-size-fits-all career ladders. In an era marked…

Scaling Experiential Learning at Slippery Rock University with Dr. John Rindy
February 9, 2026

Regional public universities are being asked to do more with fewer students, fewer dollars, and less margin for error—making student persistence, timely graduation, and career outcomes central institutional concerns. Under mounting enrollment pressure and a shifting labor market, experiential learning has moved from a “nice to have” to a strategic imperative. Research consistently shows…

The Next Data Center Bottleneck Isn’t Power or Cooling — It’s People: The Data Center Workforce
February 8, 2026

With the rapid rise of AI workloads, data centers are being built with higher power density, stricter reliability expectations, and cooling technologies that are evolving faster than most teams can adapt. As a result, these facilities aren’t just getting bigger—they’re becoming harder to operate, harder to staff, and far less forgiving when something goes…
