InfoComm 2021: When the Pandemic Made AVoIP the Standard, Netgear Answered the Call

The MarketScale team is checking in with AV’s biggest names and most innovative product developers at InfoComm 2021, and that includes hearing from the companies that supported mass adoptions of AVoIP infrastructure over the last year, like industry leader Netgear. John Henkel, Pro AV Product Marketing Manager for Netgear Business, joined us at the InfoComm MarketScale booth to share the company’s strategies for success from the pandemic, as changing workflows and collaboration needs placed importance on ease of use & customizability around AVoIP solutions. Here’s John on how this past year served as a reminder that adaptability and flexibility are essential for AV solutions.

Abridged Thoughts:

We’ve been hearing from a lot of people at the show and before the show that this is really what they want. And people have been getting into streaming for the last year and a half. Absolutely everybody is. And so we support things like NDI, NDI 5, which people are adopting, but they’re AV people, or maybe they’re in a house of worship, or perhaps they’re interested in a company or a house even. We do residential work. And they don’t know about a switch or what the heck that does or how to configure it. So that’s where ease of use is really coming into play, is enabling people who might not have been able to play in that marketplace.

So because we’re the base of all of these AV over IP installations, we have hundreds of partners. So connecting with them and seeing what they need from us as far as the switch profile, but just really connecting with people and making sure we’re giving them what they need is what’s exciting for me. We’re going to see this blossom incredibly next year, I think from a Netgear standpoint, and we’re looking forward to being part of that community more and more.
