InfoComm 2023: Esports Solutions & Opportunities Continue to Drive Big Interest Among AV Pros

 

InfoComm 2023 is back and bigger than ever in Orlando, Florida this year, once again acting as a hub for countless critical conversations for the AV industry. Which avenues are sparking the most excitement and interest for the AV industry?

Some of the buzziest industries that are sparking questions (and hopefully opportunities) for AV pros are buzzy for a reason: they’re seeing undeniable growth, and AV is essential to that growth. Take esports, for example. This still-growing market segment is so popular for the AV industry right now that AVIXA hosted dedicated esports competitions and coverage at InfoComm 2023 this year, including live showdowns with Caleb Collquitt, head coach of esports at Faulkner University and educational sessions on the technology ecosystem needed to power esports competitions and programs at scale.

AVIXA and the AV industry are responding to authentic fervor across the globe for new esports stadiums and integrations. Development companies in the U.S. and Canada, for example, are announcing dozens of new esports stadiums over the next several years including 100,000 square foot stadiums in major metros like Columbus. On the other side of the world, recent surveys reveal the esports wave is even hitting Saudi Arabia, as a majority of Saudi gamers report favoring watching esports live in-person instead of streaming events online. These stadiums, naturally, need a wide array of capable AV solutions, including Hi-Fi screens, immersive audio, and high bandwidth networks.

Folks like Mark Boyadjian, “The Neutrik Guy” and Senior Custom Solutions Engineer at Neutrik Americas, are expressing surprise and excitement at the level of interest attendees have for esports solutions, from digital signage to, in Neutrik’s case, connectivity solutions. Boyadjian shares his experience so far with Pro AV Today from the InfoComm 2023 Neutrik booth.

“The amount of traffic that we’ve seen coming in has been incredible, even more so than I would say than we had last year. Very exciting things happening here for Neutrik. We’ve got obviously a variety of products that allow you to connect one box to another box or one system to another system, whether that’s fiber, whether that’s copper, whether it’s data or power. Neutrik’s introducing so many new things here at InfoComm.

We’re learning so much from the customers that come to us and ask us these various questions on what they can do to integrate Neutrik products into their esports events and in their esports programs.
