2019 International Roadcheck Right Around the Corner

Bauer Built Helps Operators and Fleet Managers Prepare With FREE Inspections

It’s that time of year again! The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) International Roadcheck is scheduled to take place throughout North America on June 4-6. During those three days, CVSA-certified inspectors will predominantly carry out the 37-step Standard Level I Inspection, which entails an assessment of driver operating requirements and vehicle mechanical condition, including:  Brake systems, cargo securement, coupling devices, driveline/driveshaft, driver’s seat (missing), exhaust systems, frames, fuel systems, headlamps, lamps/flags on projecting loads, stop lamps, steering mechanisms, suspensions, tail lamps, tires, turn signals, van & open-top trailer bodies, wheels, rims and hubs, windshield wipers and more!

Inspectors may also perform the Level II Walk-Around Driver/Vehicle Inspection, Level III Driver/Credential/Administrative Inspection or Level V Vehicle-Only Inspection.

Placing particular emphasis on a specific category of violations each year, the 2019 International Roadcheck will focus on steering and suspension systems. These vital components buttress heavy loads, maintain stability and control during acceleration and braking, and keep tires in alignment, ensuring safe handling and steering stability while keeping vehicles safely on the road.

During the 2018 International Roadcheck, inspectors conducted 67,603 roadside inspections. Level 1 inspections resulted in 21.6% of commercial vehicles inspected being placed out-of-service. With time quickly running out, both fleet and owner/operators must act promptly to avoid violation points impacting CSA scores, costly fines and trucks being sidelined until repaired.

This year, Bauer Built Tire & Service is offering a unique service to help ensure rigs and other commercial vehicles are both safe and prepared to pass the early June CSVA inspections. We will be providing FREE commercial truck and bus inspections at 19* of our mechanical/commercial locations, allowing time for fleet managers and owner/operators to get any repairs completed with time to spare. Each of the Roadcheck’s pain points will be assessed AT NO COST, with special importance placed on steering and suspension systems. If a potential compliance violation is identified, our expert team of mechanics can then provide professional repairs, ensuring your truck(s) are not put OOS as we head into the hectic delivery months of summer.
