Watch: European Report Finds Neonic Pesticides Threaten Bees and May See Ban
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recently released a report concluding neonicotinoids endanger wild bees. Neonicotinoids are applied to seeds and spread through the plant as it grows, putting pollinators at risk. The EFSA banned three other pesticides from use on field crops, and analysts say this new report may widen that ban. Though Canadian and US regulators find the pesticides safe, there are discussions scheduled to discuss more regulation.
