CES 2024: Allegro MicroSystems Has The Right Sensors For Modern Electric Vehicle Technology

How can the latest innovations in electric vehicle technology contribute to extending their driving range, an issue at the forefront of the industry?

Senior Director at Allegro MicroSystems, Ram Sathappan, shed some light on the company’s breakthroughs in magnetic sensors and power ICs, while discussing the significant role of energy conversion efficiency in electric vehicles at CES 2024.

“And for that, what we have done is we have created some of the most accurate and high bandwidth current sensors out there, that pair along with their high voltage gate drivers for wide band gap power electronic switches. The combination of those two work very well in creating systems that are smaller, lighter, and allow you to save space and weight, which in the long run actually ends up extending the driving range,” Sathappan said.
