ScoutDay Is Changing Recruiting And Breaking Milestones

ScoutDay is setting themselves apart from traditional scouting services by using a data-first approach. Scouting for new players is now getting easier and more profitable thanks to ScoutDay’s technology, specifically in Baseball. CEO Alex Tuccio is familiar with the scouting process—as a former collegiate baseball player.

“The process of scouting is almost historic where stopwatches and radar guns are still relatively new,” Tuccio said in a recent MarketScale podcast.

The company announced Wednesday a huge milestone for the popularity of the service—reaching 10,000 users in a five month span.

The service uses a combination of video analysis and networking to not only help potential recruits get the most accurate information about their stats and abilities but also allow coaches and scouts to connect with these collegiate players. The scouts can pause and slow down the mechanics of a swing or pitch to give an incredibly detailed picture of what a recruit plays like.

With the ScoutDay app, recruits post their stats, videos, academic information and more so that college coaches, scouts, and more can connect with a player they’re interested in by a simple right swipe.

ScoutDay also partners with big names in professional baseball to give players the most out of their hard work. Perfect Game, baseball’s premier scouting service, and a recruiting monolith is responsible for discovering the likes of MLB superstars Bryce Harper, Carlos Correa, and more. Perfect Game gives ScoutDay’s players a larger platform to be discovered with “Player of the Week” and other highlights from ScoutDay recruits to be featured.

In the future, Truccio envisions AI and machine learning playing a significant role in matching the talent with the collegiate program.

“At a high level, our goal is to remove the search out of the college recruiting experience… that can not only help coaches make those limited scholarship decisions but also help a student find the perfect match,” he told MarketScale.

ScoutDay is bringing an antiquated system into the 21st century and with their latest milestone user milestone, the service is proving to be is a home run for college recruiting.
