POWER BREEZER AND O2 OFFER RELIEF AS THE MERCURY SOARS IN SOUTH AFRICA

For much of the world, 2018 will be remembered as the “Year of the heat wave”. Temperatures have reached record highs across the globe, fueling massive wildfires and landing thousands of people in the hospital with heat stress in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Australia, and now South Africa.

Heat Waves are Becoming More Common around the Globe

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) defines a heat wave as “marked unusual hot weather over a region persisting at least two consecutive days during the hot period of the year based on local climatological conditions, with thermal conditions recorded above given thresholds.” The WMO also notes that heat waves result in the mortality of people, creates agricultural losses, and increases the occurrence of many dangers such as health-related risks, wildfires, power shortages, and accidents. Global warming is contributing to heat waves with record high temperatures on every continent and even above the Arctic Circle. Arthur Wyn, co-author of the Special Report on Global Warming issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says, “It is now the scientific consensus that global warming affects human health, causing loss of millions of lives.”

South Africa is Reaching New Record High Temperature

Even in late October, heat waves were sweeping South Africa, bringing sweltering conditions and causing high fire danger conditions. In the capital city of Cape Town, extreme weather conditions continued for over a week, with little hope for relief. In fact, a number of temperature records for October were broken due to the scorching heat.

Breezer Mobile Cooling Can Help Provide Relief from the Heat

Obviously, global warming and the resulting record number of heat waves is a global concern with no simple answers. However, Breezer Mobile Cooling can help offer temporary relief in the form of the Power Breezer and O2. Breezer Mobile Cooling is a Florida based company, but our products are available to individuals, organizations, and companies around the globe. Our Research and Development Department has concentrated on the intensive needs of individuals working and living in the hottest climates and situations and developed products to help manage high temperatures and reduce heat-related injuries. The design of our products is meant to accommodate the conditions in the harshest environments. The compact, strong, and easy to assemble Power Breezer addresses heat issues by quietly cooling over 3,000 sq. ft. by up to 27°F, and the O2 uses similar technology in a more compact package.
